I'm not the biggest fan. Given the alternative, I'd actually go to taqueria yungapeti or berny's tacos before I'd go to the more "restaurant-like" mexican places in Walla Walla. Rosita's was...fine. Nothing special, kinda bland. The service was good, I just wasn't much impressed with the food. I had the chicken taquitos and they were alright. The taco salad was nothing to sneeze at, but in general I just don't go here if I'm craving mexican. It doesn't satisfy.

Service was slow, but the food was worth the wait. Tamales are handmade and can be served in the husk.

I very rarely if ever leave unsatisfied from a Mexican restaurant and I'm hardly the type that actively seeks out reasons to be critical, but this place didn't really do much for me. I ordered the 3 [cheese] enchilada platter with rice and beans, which I'd say is pretty hard to mess up. In this case, the 3 enchiladas were criminally understuffed by enchilada standards and covered in some type of bland, brown gravy. I prefer ranchero with my enchiladas, but that wasn't an option. The taste itself was not too shabby, the bland gravy notwithstanding. The platter was, compared to most Mexican restaurants, a bit smaller but the beans and rice were slightly above mediocre and well heated. The horchata was great, some of the best horchata I've ever had. The perfect consistency and well flavored with spices. It tasted like a little nutmeg was used in addition to the cinnamon and was damn refreshing. The service was somewhere between indifference and aloofness, though admittedly I did come in somewhat close to closing time. I can look the other way when it comes to slightly bad service, but I did want more of that fine horchata, but ended up leaving with only one glass. The price was higher than I anticipated, but my point of reference for Mexican food prices is not all that close to Walla Walla, so I'm not sure if, relative to their local competition, it was that high. All in all, this place is not actually worth a 3 star rating, but I'll give them a bonus for that horchata.

The wife and I stopped in to order a couple dinners to go (camping in town - too hot to cook). The staff was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. Rosita herself made sure we were taken care of and had water while we waited. Wife got the chicken enchiladas, I got the chicken burrito with tomatillo sauce. Everything is obviously homeade, and what we had was absolutely delicious. If razzly-dazzly decor is your thing - this isn't the place for you. But if authentic, delicious cooking is - Rosita's is the place. Oh, and our dinners were placed in containers then placed in plastic bags and sealed to keep them hot. I've never seen that much care put into a "to-go" order before. Impressive. I just wish we lived closer because we'd definitely be back!

We got takeout for 11 people and not only did the wonderful hostess not bat an eye, she invited us to sit down and offered us water while we were waiting, then kept everything organized even though we paid on 6 separate checks. The food itself was delicious--definitely Tex-Mex with all the sauce and cheese. A true family restaurant.

Good and simple Mexican food. The staff is very friendly and the owner is very sweet. I personally like a little more pop in my Mexican food, but looking around it was probably just right for the denizens of Walla Walla. No beer is kind of an issue since that is usually the balm that makes any Mexican food pretty good. The tacos were good, the enchilada was uninspiring but solid and the sides were just there. The chip were tasty and seemed freshly made.

Having grown up in Texas I am a very picky Mexican food eater. Rositas is the most authentically Texas style Mexican food I have found in Washington state. The only thing missing was pralines. Good food, good service and excellent salsa (hot sauce for you Texans out there).

Mm mm yummy. Real Mexican food with Tex-Mex flair. Good stuff, good prices, good portions. Fantastic service. The salsa is the bomb. I pride myself on my tolerance for spicy food but the salsa here kicked my ass. Service was slow, but I've only been there once so it's too soon to judge. This is a family restaurant, so plan to grab beers or margaritas somewhere else. I'll be back many times I'm sure. Update.....I just remembered, Rosita's has a drive-through window so you can take affordable, good food home to the family, OR mix those margaritas at home while your honey picks up dinner! Guess that explains why we waited a little longer than normal - for a Mexican restaurant - for our food. Hmm, I'm thinking margaritas and veggie quesadillas for dinner tonight!

Lunch here was so good! Family run restaurant and you can feel the love. The atmosphere was just ok and the booth we were at was a little run down. We had the pulled beef soft tacos and they were amazing. Service awesome.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
